Alicia Browne creates from a place of reimaged narratives and poses questions examining identity in fun and irreverent ways. Her artistic practice tends to work through a process of contemplating the tensions between insider outsider, public private, and the veils that uphold these ideas. As an artist, anthropologist, bench jeweller, and business counsellor she enjoys the process of making as an embodied joyful practice. She is a black artist that lives in Dartmouth and shares her passion for life and laughter with her community, friends and family.

The collection - We are the Bouquets we are Looking For, is her inaugural collection. Each piece is hand drawn, hand fabricated so no two pieces are alike just as the individual wearer. 2020 has been a challenging year and it’s the return to the basics of enjoying doodling, and the falling into the imaginary world of talking flowers on yet another Zoom call.
Alicia has been seeking to feel joy in all that is available even in the hidden spaces.
